A week from Saturday, May 7, is the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby.  By every measure it’s one of the most exciting sporting events ever.  One thing that makes it so, is the amount of money riding on those horses.

According to the personal-finance website  WalletHub , race fans are expected to wager more than $100 million on the Derby.  That will buy a lot of sugar lumps.  For most of us, the casual wager is simple fun but for millions of addicted gamblers it feels like life and death!

Wallet Hub has a new report  on 2016’s Most Gambling-Addicted States  and I’ll bet 20 bucks Washington isn’t in the top ten!  ( peeked, we rank #38)
