WSU Parents and Students Demand Safer Roads

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Parents and students at Washington State University are demanding safer roads leading into Pullman after two fatal crashes this holiday season.

They say Highway 195 and Highway 26 have both become very dangerous, with narrow lanes and high speed limits.

KREM-TV reports two WSU students died in separate crashes over the Thanksgiving holiday this year.

Students and parents have gathered more than 5,600 signatures on petitions asking the state Department of Transportation to add passing lanes or expand the highways in general.
