WSU Cougars Get #2 Seed in NIT, Open at Home

The WSU Cougars, who saw their NCAA Tourney hopes put on the rocks with an opening round loss in the Pac-10 Tournament, get a high seed in the National Invitation Tournament.

The Cougars (19-12), who saw their NCAA tournament hopes dashed by an 87-85 loss to Washington in the first round of the Pac-10 tournament, found out Sunday they'll be playing in their fifth postseason NIT.

The Cougars were awarded a No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Long Beach State at 7 p.m. Wednesday night  at Friel Court on the WSU campus.
