The world trade center towers lay in ruins, America was still in a state of shock and looking for a way to return to a sense of normalcy. On the field the Arizona Diamondbacks held a two games to none lead as the series shifted back to New York -- and President George W. Bush agreed to throw out the first pitch as a way to try to help heal the country.
