Woman Dies in Sunnyside House Fire

A 51-year-old woman died in a house fire in Sunnyside early Tuesday morning.

Sunnyside firefighters say the fire at a home in the 500 block of South 13th Street was reported at about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Another resident in the home apparently tried to rescue the woman identified as Kimberly Weathers but could not reach her in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters say the home had no working smoke alarms.
