A 44-year-old woman has died after she opened the rear door of a vehicle and fell out as the car she was in traveled on Interstate 82 Monday.

Washington State Patrol troopers say it happened at about 6:30 p.m. when 18-year-old Logan Lesko of Goldendale was driving eastbound on I-82 about six miles west of Zillah. As Lesko was trying to pull over to the right shoulder, her right rear passenger, 44-year-old Stephanie Lesko of Goldendale, exited the Dodge pickup Logan was driving.

Logan Lesko was driving at about 40-50 miles per hour when Stephanie Lesko exited the pickup. Stephanie Leskko was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where she died.

Troopers believe that drugs or alcohol was involved in the accident. They are still investigating the lead up to the accident.

No charges have been filed.
