Why The Debt “Deal” Is Just A Delay

President Obama doesn’t get it.  Political pundits just don’t get it.  They didn’t get why the TEA party first formed and they don’t get it now.  How many bloggers, journalists, established politicians and observers are saying “the Tea Party doesn’t know when to claim victory when they’ve won”?

The political types view this as a game in which two sides keep score…like soccer only more interesting.  But what they can’t grasp is that Tea Party people aren’t about sides or scores or games.  Sure, they have to “access the system” in the usual way (elections) but once inside they are committed to do what they were elected to do and that is what is best for the country….even if it’s at odds with the republican establishment. 

 So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Tea Party Patriots are holding fast.  They don’t feel as though they have “won”.

 Under the deal the debt still increases 7 to 8 trillion over the next 10 years.  That is a loser by any reasonable definition.

 The Tea Party hasn’t won anything of substance until the budget is balanced, the debt is in decline and America is living within its means….and guess what happens then?  Responsible government breeds growth and investment and the revenue to continue to function as the great country on earth.
