There are those who live on line and there are those who study those who live on line!  Consider this - Facebook may have more of an influence on you than you think. (In fact I don’t think we have scratched the surface of social media and influence)

A new study reveals users of the social network who like, share, or comment on alcohol-related pages or posts are more likely to consider drinking alcohol. (does that hold true for other products and activities?)(how does this set us up for manipulation and control?)

Over 400 study participants were asked about their feelings after they encountered and responded to alcohol-related Facebook items. Study leader say they found if people actually feel so engaged with the message they want to do something about it-- like, share or comment-- that it makes the likelihood of them thinking about drinking even greater.

Additionally, if an alcohol-related status was paired with an anti-drinking message, the person viewing it was more likely to consider drinking. (Daily Mail
