Remember back a few years ago when the big screen TV was THE GIFT to get and give for Christmas? Big screens are still a big deal but they dominate the news about shopping like they used to. One thing hasn’t changed – men think they know more than women when it comes to TV.

A British satellite TV company surveyed 2,000 people about television, and found that 44 percent of men said they were confident enough in their knowledge about television sets that they could easily buy one without seeking further advice—while just 26 percent of women said the same.

Thirty-two percent of women said they choose which TV to purchase based on price alone. Overall, men claimed they had far more knowledge about how TVs work, their specifications, and even which TV programming is to watch.

Men say this is why they are often reluctant to give up the remote, since they "think they know best." Respondents were also asked to identify a number of TV terms, and both men and women didn't know most of the terms, nor which ones were most important to know when purchasing a TV. (Daily Mail)
