The Morning News with Dave & Lance is often a perfect Petri dish to test out any number of society’s studies, theories and assumptions.  Take this latest study about kids and their attitudes about school.  Safe to say we represent both sides of the bell shaped curve.

New data shows the answer to the question “did you love or hate school as a child” may actually lie in your genes.

After studying the motivational differences among 13,000 twins from six different countries, Ohio State University researchers found genes to be at least 40 to 50 percent responsible for a child's desire to learn. Shared environmental factors, such as parental relationships, only accounted for three percent of personality variables.

Morning Show survey says 1.)Dave loved school and his kids-not so much --  although Gator at 6 is owning kindergarten.

2.)Lance Tormey didn’t really like school but his daughter Lisa-just got a full ride to Heritage!  What can we learn from this?

I have no idea. Perhaps as true as genetics are, there are gaps!!

Study leader Stephen Petrill says, "The knee-jerk reaction is to say someone is not properly motivating the student, or the child himself is responsible. We found that there are personality differences that people inherit that have a major impact on motivation." (UPI)
