What Do God And Meth Have In Common? It’s All In Your Head!
There’s getting “high”, being high on life but is it possible to be high on the Lord? Science says yes.
Researchers from The University of Utah scanned the brains of a group of Mormons as they thought about God. The scientists found similar activity in the brain that's experienced by someone experiencing romantic love, or someone on methamphetamine or cocaine.
Elite Daily reports the scientists found that when study participants were instructed to think about a savior, about being with their families for eternity, about their heavenly rewards, their brains and bodies physically responded.
I’m not sure what that means but I find it fascinating and appropriate. In light of that, it’s not so surprising that people addicted to meth and coke often can’t break the bonds of those addictions until they allow God into their lives. Coincidence? I think not.
