Any day now your son or daughter will get into an overloaded car and head back to college. There will be football games, frat parties and even some studying and academic success.  So when it’s all said and done and graduation is at hand,  what will they get in return for the time and expense of a college degree?

That’s an important consideration, so read on and adjust your major and credit load accordingly.

A new survey from the recruiting company Looksharp puts into perspective how much a college degree is worth.

More than 50,000 college students were polled on their fields of study and how many of them got internships and then were employed afterward. As the media has been reporting,  graduates with degrees in science, technology, engineering and math known as STEM, end up with the best job prospects.

 Here's the list of majors with the resulting employment after college.

--Sociology, 18.9 percent
--Political Science, 26.6 percent
--Psychology and Counseling, 30.6 percent
--Arts, 34.8 percent
--Communications, 42.9 percent
--Law, 46 percent
--Health care, 47.7 percent

--Marketing, 48.8 percent
--Business, 49.6 percent
--Finance, 53.1 percent
--Nursing, 58.7 percent
--Graphic Design, 64.4 percent
--STEM, 71.2 percent
--Computer Science, 80.8 percent
