A video showing an assault in the hallway of West Valley High School's freshman campus has gone viral, but it does not tell the full story, says Mike Brophy, superintendent of the West Valley School District.

The school went on lockdown Wednesday after one of the girls’ parents protested her suspension.

Brophy says both students were suspended as a result of the fight, but he tells KIT News, “There is more to the story that we’d like to talk about, but we are bound by the requirements of the law that we can’t do that.”

Brophy says the district worked hard to investigate the situation before taking action and suspending both students.

The school on Wednesday went into a modified lockdown after the parent and a juvenile walked into the school office to protest the action taken by the district, but the district says no other kids were in danger.
