The West Valley Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program may be saved in the West Valley School District. The board met May 29 and asked the district to find a way to save the program. Superintendent Mike Brophy says it's just a matter of economics and he does not believe the district can afford the Junior ROTC program. Brophy says cuts in state funding have hurt the district in many ways, including pushing to cut important programs.

More than 100 students are currently involved in Junior ROTC in the West Valley School District.
