Yakima County has the West Nile Virus found in two samples of mosquitoes arriving almost one month earlier than previous years, according to KAPP-tv.

Now with the virus being active Washington state health officials warn people who spend time outdoors at dawn and dusk, which are the peak active times for mosquitoes, to wear protective clothing and use bug repellent with DEET(N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide,) reports KAPP-tv.

Also to keep in mind, KAPP-tv states, is avoiding standing or stagnant water in any areas especially around the house in flower pots, cans or other items.
