As the gun control debate rages in the United States, there are some lawmakers calling for the confiscation of certain weapons. This has prompted some sherrifs to publicly state that they will not participate in any federal mandate to take guns away from law abiding citizens.

Recently on "The Mike Bastinelli Show," Yakima County Sheriff Ken Irwin said "we're not going to participate in that, it's actually kind of foolish, you're going after the wrong people." Irwin went on to say that if the federal government calls for any kind of gun confiscation, expect to see a big pushback from a majority of sheriffs in Washington State.
