Every Saturday morning at 5 am on NewsTalk 1280 KIT you can listen to the best in hunting, fishing and getting around in the great outdoors with John Kruse and Northwestern Outdoors Radio.  It’s a great show and we encourage you to check it out, maybe en route to your next outdoor adventure!  By the way, those hunting and fishing trips add serious money to Wildlife restoration efforts in Washington.

The U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife recently announced that taxes on hunters will provide more than $13 million to fund wildlife conservation in Washington state this year. The funding, generated by taxes on firearms and ammunition, is part of the Pittman-Robertson fund and provides funding to each state for wildlife restoration.

Each year, hunters generate about $370 million in economic benefit for Washington, supporting 5,600 jobs and paying about $40 million in state and local taxes.
