Have you ever thought, "I want to become more involved in the community," but you just don't know where to start? The Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Washington State just released the info for their upcoming FREE event this Saturday (Sept. 29) at the Yakima Valley College campus Hupf Union Building (HUB), 16th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard. The East of the Cascade Youth Conference is for students between the ages of 17 and 24 and will feature speakers Blaine Tamaki, Melissa Hill, Rocio Carrion, David Mance, Mathew Tomaskin, Ricardo De Villa, Maria Batarao and Alex Galarza will share their thoughts on how to empower our youth and give tips and tricks on how to assist in our youth visualizing themselves as leaders in their own communities. If you have questions or love to debate it is all encouraged! This event will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. is FREE for participants and will also include morning refreshments, lunch and afternoon refreshments! Change your path today!
