“I’m bored”! Ever hear your kids whine that?  Me too and perhaps too often we let the video games be their escape. The American Academy of Pediatrics has issued a new policy statement warning about the dangers of violence in video media.

U.S. News & World Report says the Academy's "Virtual Violence" policy statement warns parents to limit the amount of violent content to which children are exposed.

They said video games are of special concern because the expansion of 3-D, virtual and augmented reality technology creates "an immersive experience."

To be fair and accurate, there is currently no definitive link between screen and real-world violence like school shootings but an analysis of 400 different studies found that there is a "notable link" between violent media exposure and aggressive behavior and thoughts.
