Local veterans will be honoring  military personnel later this month.  On July 24 at 11 a.m., VFW post 379 and the Washington Army National Guard will hold a remembrance ceremony for personnel recently killed in action in the global war on terror. The ceremony will include full military honors and a reading of the names of the fallen.

This ceremony happens quarterly and includes participants from other local veterans organizations.

The VFW 379 honor guard was recently honored by 4th district representative and members of post 379 Charles Ross.  A group portrait of the team was provided by Keith and Keith funeral home and is on display at the post.  In 2011 the honor guard provided full military honors to more than 100 veterans of all conflicts. The VFW is an extremely dedicated group without which it would be impossible to provide this last service for many of those who served our country.
