VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The city of Vancouver is preparing to build a park along the Columbia River.

The 7.3-acre parcel just west of Interstate 5 will complement a new 32-acre, high-density urban redevelopment project with planned office, retail and residential units.

The preparations involve removing surface obstructions, grading and preliminary trail work. They're expected to be finished by May, with construction of the park beginning in earnest this summer.
