Families of special needs kids sometimes get lost in the clamor and chaos of public events featuring Santa, McGruff the Crime Dog. Woodsy the Owl, Smokey Bear, etc.  This Sunday March 20th-the first day of Spring-Valley Mall in Union Gap will make sure to make space and circumstances right for special needs kids by hosting its first ever “Silent Bunny” event. Coordinators say this will allow children with special needs to be welcomed into a photo environment designed to support their sensory, physical and developmental needs.  Now that’s a cool idea!

A Valley Mall spokesperson says they did a similar thing during Santa Claus’s visit and it worked well enough to offer it again for the Easter Bunny!

The event begins at 9 and runs until 11 when the Valley Mall opens to the general public.  Families are encouraged to RSVP today by calling (509) 469-9308.
