Two Lower Yakima Valley gang members, who fired shots at a deputy during a car chase last week, were charged with first-degree assault in Yakima County Superior Court on June 4. 23-year-old Ricardo Ruiz and 22-year-old Alex Serrano are being held in the Yakima County jail. The two were arrested after a Wapato store was robbed and deputies spotted their vehicle. A chase started and the passenger fired shots at the deputy. The suspect vehicle crashed and the two were taken into custody. The bail is set at $2 million each for the suspects.
