UPDATE: Yakima Air Traffic Control Tower Not Yet Closing

The Yakima Airport control tower will not be closing this month as was originally planned and reported on.

KNDU reports that the tower closures will now begin on June 15th with Yakima's air traffic control being handled by SEA-TAC at that point.

KNDU says the Federal Aviation Administration closures are delayed as a result of multiple legal challenges and all 149 closures across the country will be delayed.
