According to KNDO, the Benton County coroner released the victim’s name of the Kennewick murder that occurred on Friday morning on the 500 block of East 8th Place.

Franklin Scott Evans Palmer, 24, was found by police with a gun shot wound to his head in a home where a woman and three children were also present at the time of the shooting.

KNDO says that the police said the woman and the suspect, Grant Scantling, had a domestic relationship and they had a dispute just before Palmer was shot.

KNDO says that a neighbor spoke with KNDU saying Scantling and Palmer used to be friends, but a love triangle developed between them and the woman and drugs may have been involved, but police will not confirm that.

KNDO says this case is still under investigation.
