University of Washington Student Arrested in Groping Cases

SEATTLE (AP) — Police have arrested a 19-year-old University of Washington student related to a series of groping incidents on campus.

KOMO-TV reports six women have reported being grabbed or fondled in an intramural activities building near Husky Stadium since Jan. 31.

University of Washington Police Department Commander Steve Rittereiser says the man was arrested Sunday afternoon, after a woman reported being grabbed by a man who then ran into a restroom.

She reportedly called police and cornered him in the restroom until officers arrived.

Rittereiser says as many as eight incidents may be connected to the student who was arrested.

Police are urging anyone else who may have been a victim to come forward.
