kima

Yakima Police say two teens remain in critical condition today after being shot in the area of South 4th Street and East Maple Street just after 11:00 a.m. yesterday. Capt. Rod Light says officers found the two in the street critically injured. A 15-year-old boy was hit in the head and the other 17-year-old boy was shot in the back. Both were taken to a Yakima hospital where the 15-year-old is listed in critical condition. The 17-year-old was transferred to Harborview in Seattle for treatment.

No suspects have been arrested. Police say the shooting is likely related to local gangs. An investigation continues today. The Yakima Police Department asks anyone who may have information about the shooting to call (509) 575-6200.
