The City of Yakima says the closure of two sections of J Street to through traffic begins tomorrow, June 3rd, for a wastewater line installation project and will be closed through at least Friday, June 7th.

The four-block section of J Street between 16th Avenue and 20th Avenue and the two-block section of J Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue will both be closed, according to the city with traffic likely to be congested.

The city says traffic controls will be in place during the project and using alternate routes is advised with access to homes and businesses being maintained.

The schedule for this project may change depending on weather, equipment failure and emergencies and for additional information regarding this project the city recommends contacting Utility Engineer Shelley Willson at  576-6303.
