Two Off-Duty Firefighters Killed in Jeep Crash

Two young off duty firefighters were killed in a jeep crash last week and family and friends are mourning their losses today. State Patrol troopers say the jeep driven by 20 year old Samual Amaral was found down a steep ravine in the Ahtanum creek area. Amaral and his passenger 20 year old Mathew Trost of California died at the scene. Officials are investigating how the accident happened sometime last Thursday night or Friday morning. The crash scene was apparently discovered by an area rancher. No drugs or alcohol are suspected in the fatality. Amaral was worked for the West Valley Fire Department.
