Despite a plea bargain agreement that allowed 30-year-old Kevin Harper to escape murder charges, an investigation in the case continues. Yakima County Chief Deputy Stew Graham told KIT News the murders continue to be investigated and two new detectives have been assigned to the case.

Specifically he says they're now focusing on the only other suspect charged with murder in the case. Tracy Culton is charged with first degree murder and burglary in the case. The original suspect, Harper, faces a seven-year prison term after pleading guilty to stolen property and weapons charges on Wednesday.

But the ultimate question of what happened in the case has yet to be answered. The Yakima County prosecutor has not returned a call to his office made by KIT News. However, the prosecutor is meeting with reporters in his office this morning. We’ll have the latest in our noon report.
