A woman and her daughter from Granite Falls are in the hospital today after a snowmobiling accident east of Snoqualmie Pass Saturday afternoon.

Kittitas County Sheriff Deputies say a search and rescue training day turned real when 40-year-old Eveleen Promise and her 13-year-old daughter got hurt.

Deputies say Promise was driving the snowmobile that went off the groomed route and about 30 feet down a steep hill before it stopped near a creek. Both the woman and her daughter, who was riding as the passenger, suffered several injuries. Promise is in serious to critical condition.

Search and rescue crews were able to rescue the mother and daughter and bring them to the Gold Creek Sno-Park. Paramedics took the mother to the to the Hyak Department of Transportation facility, where a helicopter airlifted her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. An ambulance drove her daughter to Overlake in Bellevue.

Both are recovering today.
