Work to stabilize a slope that washed out last fall resumes on Friday.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will reduce U.S. Highway 12 to a single lane with alternating traffic near Milepost 154, three miles east of White Pass. A temporary traffic signal will guide vehicles through a single-lane detour. Drivers will experience 10- to 15-minute delays during daylight hours.

This two-week project finishes up work to stabilize the slope that washed out in October 2013. Work is scheduled to be complete April 25.
