Both eastbound and westbound traffic on a section of Terrace Heights Drive will be reduced to one lane Thursday for a City of Yakima project to repair a concrete barrier. A news release from the city explains.

"Traffic restrictions will be in place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Terrace Heights Drive from 18th Street to the Yakima city limits.

"Known as a jersey barrier, it is in place to separate a walking path from the roadway. The sidewalk in that area will be closed while City of Yakima crews are making the repairs.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies."
