After several delays the traffic lights at 64th and Washington Avenue will be in operation today.

The city says lack of staff in the design department was the reason for the first delay.

There was also a delay from a back-order on poles at the company that makes them.

The poles were put up last week. One neighbor says it's about time.

"That 4-way stop seemed like it was pretty hard for most people to navigate," Daryl Leonard who lives near the intersection tells our news partner KIMA Action News "It got pretty crazy, a lot of accidents."

Testing will begin at 9:00 a.m., so try to avoid the area if you can.
