The first day of school is likely to bring construction detours for parents dropping off East Valley students.

Construction on Beaudry Road will continue into the school year.
Sidewalks will be completed in just a few areas and the student overpass will not be done.

Inspectors say the project was just too big to complete in one summer.

"We had probably hoped a little more was done but to realistically think it was 100 percent done wasn't too realistic. We tried to hold the schedule like that and it just didn't work out but I don't think there
will be any major safety issues for people coming in," said Mark Brzoska, a project engineer.

Drivers will only be able to access the upper schools through the south end of Beaudry Road. Use Mieras Road to get to the grade school.
