TRAFFIC ALERT Yakima Crews Working On 5th Avenue

Yakima City crews will be busy this week and they're hoping you'll comply with the parking restrictions. Here's the latest from the city.

"No parking will be allowed along the section of 5^th Avenue between Yakima Avenue and Fruitvale Boulevard while a road repair project is underway most of this week.  City of Yakima crews will be sealing cracks and making other repairs along that section of 5^th Avenue from Monday, April 25^th through Thursday, April 28^th between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm.

Any car parked along the section of 5^th Avenue between Yakima Avenue and Fruitvale Boulevard while the project is underway may be towed.

Throughout the project, traffic control measures will be in place in order to ease congestion and detours will be available to help drivers navigate around the project area.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies."
