TRAFFIC ALERT: City Crews Working On Ninth Street

TRAFFIC ALERT. Yakima city crews are busy today with a project that could impact your commute along a section of 9^th Street Today.

The project will take place on 9^th Street between Yakima Avenue and Chestnut Avenue and will involve removing old and deteriorated asphalt and repaving a section of the street.

Work on the project will take place between 6:00 am and 3:00 pm on September 15^th. While the project is underway, the section of 9^th Street between Yakima Avenue and Chestnut Avenue will be closed to traffic.  Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible.
