If you live on Englewood Avenue or Drive the street you'll want to know a section of Englewood Avenue will be closed to through traffic starting Thursday, October 12th, due to a drainage improvement project.

“The project length is 30 working days,” said Construction Supervisor Bruce Floyd. “It should be completed just before Thanksgiving.”

Englewood Avenue will be closed between 49th Avenue and 52nd Avenue during work hours at the site, from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. A detour will be available via Lincoln Avenue.

Traffic will resume on Englewood Avenue at night and weekends. Motorists can expect to see signs warning of rough roadways and cautioning motorcyclists about bumps in the road, Floyd said.

Work by Contractor DW Excavating of Davenport will include excavation, constructing curb and gutter, paving with hot mix asphalt, and replacing storm drain lines.
