Trade Legislation Under Review, Government Group Issuing Grant Money

U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman met with the House Ways and Means and Senate Finance committees yesterday on trade.
The National Pork Producers Council and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association both support Trade Promotion Authority and urge Congress to renew the legislation. More than 12 million American jobs depend on exports - and NCBA President Bob McCan says with TPA renewal - valuable free trade agreements - like the Trans-Pacific Partnership - can move forward.
NPPC President Howard Hill says it’s imperative that Congress approve TPA as a signal to U.S. trading partners that the U.S. is ready to finalize an agreement that expands U.S. trade and generates jobs.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications for up to $20 million in grants for environmental markets and conservation finance projects through the Conservation Innovation Grant program.
NRCS will accept pre-proposals for initial review before inviting applicants to submit full proposals.
