A lot of kids who never missed a day of school this year will be riding new bicycles this weekend thanks to the PACE program. PACE stands for perfect attendance creates excellence and it's a program by Toyota of Yakima that rewards kids for staying in school. Robbie Bustos is the Community Outreach Coordinator who says this Saturday 758 students from 23 schools will receive new bicycles..."We have about 50 more kids this year so pretty exciting. This is our 5th year so we're up to about 3,000 bikes so far."
The program awards a bicycle to students who are never late and who never miss a day of school.
The big private party for the kids is set for Saturday at Toyota of Yakima at 2230 Longfibre road in Union Gap.
