While kids are out for the Summer, Toppenish Principal Trevor Greene is up for a national award for Principal of the Year. Greene is one of six educators competing for the award presented by the National Principals Association and Metlife. Each of the six finalists will receive a $15-hundred dollar grant.

Toppenish High School has a 95 percent minority student population, and all students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. School officials say Greene has been at the school for four years and has given more students access to rigorous classes and helped them earn college credit.  Superintendent of Toppenish School District says Greene has created a warm, inviting and secure school climate.
