Toppenish Police Busy With Murder Investigation

Toppenish police detectives have been busy since Saturday investigating the killing of 26-year-old Ramon Verduzco.

The Toppenish man was shot Saturday afternoon during an argument with a juvenile who's now under arrest. The shooting happened in an alley in Toppenish at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

Verduzco was taken to a Yakima hospital, where he died. The 16-year-old suspect was arrested Saturday night after police say he was taken to the Toppenish Police Department by a family member.

Police say the suspect and the victim are both known gang members. The investigation continues today.
