Yakima is a pretty dog friendly town, if you know where to go. Sure, you can't take the pooch everywhere, but here are a few places where the pup is welcomed with open paws!

Totally dog friendly. They even provide cleaning supplies to tidy up if there's a "little mess".  Dogs on leashes only.

People bring dogs to the market every week.  It's a social event for people and their dogs. Again, dogs have to be on leashes, and keep in mind it can get hot and crowded.

Very dog friendly as their outdoor seating area is very large, water is available and there is a large lawn area in front of the store. Keep in mind, dogs are not allowed in the store (unless they are service animals) due to state health regulations. Again, dogs on leashes only.

When you get a chance check out our new off-leash Dog Park located within Sherman Park. It is such a beautiful setting and will be great fun for both the 2 legged visitors and our 4-legged furry friends. There is still a lot to do to make it the best off-leash dog park in the area. There is plenty of parking just west of the Humane Society and the folks there are more than excited about having a completely fenced dog park so convenient to them. They will help by volunteering to show dog owners the rules of the park and make sure that everyone picks up after their dog. Hopefully everyone makes sure their dog is social and not aggressive to other dogs or people. Click here for more information.
