Whether it's an exotic, wagu beef, hand made, natural casing uber sausage, or the inexpensive mystery meat kind, nothing says 4th of July like the All American Hot Dog! Different toppings and buns, foot long or regular size, they are all great. With the Independence Day weekend coming up, here's a quick look at some favorite dogs.

The Chicago Dog

A recent personal discovery, the Chicago Dog is unique. Take a poppyseed bun, an all beef frank and garnish with mustard, relish, chopped onion, kosher pickle, tomato, sport peppers, and a sprinkling of celery salt. A bit labor intensive at home, but worth it!

The Coney Island Dog

Ironically, the Coney Dog is most famous in Detroit! Just a dog, bun, a greek style no beans chili, and a stripe of mustard. Delicious.

The Chili Dog

Start with a basic dog, a can of Nalley's Chili with Beans, chopped onions, and some shredded cheddar. This is heaven on a bun. Be sure to take some Beano!

All kinds of toppings and buns and so on. My favorite dog is still one blistered on a bbq grill and then just give a stripe of good old yellow mustard. MMMM! Don't forget, there will be a hot dog eating contest at the 4th Of July Celebration at State Fair Park at 5PM http://www.yakima4thofjuly.org/
