My wife Sara is dealing with some insomnia lately and it is frustrating and exhausting and she’s heard from many others who have experienced the same - so I’m on alert for any news and information that might make a difference for her and perhaps you.

The Daily Mail is reporting on new research that suggests restricting the amount of time a person spends in bed can help those who have trouble falling asleep.

The American College of Physicians (ACP) says that between 70 and 80 percent of people can cure their sleeping issues by simply spending less time in bed. (Sorry snugglers)

Choosing to stay awake instead of laying in bed attempting to fall asleep is a tactic used in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and the ACP says this should be used as the first treatment for chronic insomnia.

Some researchers say insomnia is likely a natural part of the human condition, in particular with its connection to the fight or flight response.  (Daily Mail)
