Many music lovers point to Crosby, Stills and Nash as being the first "supergroup". The concept of artists from other very successful bands getting together to form another act.

In 1988, five legendary friends and musicians got together for fun, and what resulted was possibly the greatest "supergroup" of all time being born.

The Traveling Wilburys.

Music icons George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne worked only a short time together, recorded only two albums, and never toured. They did leave behind some remarkable music.
