Taxpayer watchdog and initiative proponent Tim Eyman brought out his latest initiative proposal in Olympia on Monday.

The measure would cut billions from the state budget unless the legislature comes up with legislation to make it harder to raise taxes.

The proposal would cut the state sales tax from 6.5% to 5.5%. It's estimated that it would cost the state approximately $1 billion in revenue.

Eyman talked about his latest initiative on Tuesday's Mike Bastinelli show. He explained why he came up with the measure, and how he hopes it will force state lawmakers's hands to come up with tax reduction legislation.
