Three Yakima businessmen have been chosen to share the Ted Robertson Community Service Award given by The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce today. Former Chamber President Ron King announced that Ken Marble, Bill Dolson and Al Deatley have all been chosen to receive the award. King says the men were chosen because of the history they've made in the Yakima Valley. "History in our community, history of giving and history of their families. We are so honored to honor these folks."
Al Deatley is the former owner of Superior Asphalt, Bill Dolson is the second-generation owner of the independently owned Coca-Cola franchise and local dairy farmer and Ken Marble is the owner of Horizon Distribution. All were chosen because of what many call their tireless efforts to improve life in the Yakima Valley.
The recipients of the award are selected by the past board chairs of the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented in honor of legendary Yakima newspaper publisher and humanitarian, Ted Robertson.
This years recipients will be honored at the black & white gala, October 9 at the Yakima Valley Sundome at State Fair Park.
