Those Noises Are Coming From Howitzers This Month

Lots of loud noises will be coming from the Yakima Training Center for the next month. Units assigned to 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division have arrived at the center this week to participate in what's called company level certification training.

The training, scheduled to begin Monday is in preparation for an upcoming rotation to the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Calif.
During the monthlong training, the loud explosions will come from artillery fire from the unit’s M777 Howitzers. Firing will be conducted from several ranges at the training center.
