Today, November 7th, the day before election day 2016, has some pretty deep and interesting political roots! Let’s review this day in history and see how November 7ths of the past impact the election today!

1893 Colorado becomes the first state to give women the right to vote  and it may be that the female support for Hillary and Trumps alleged bad behavior with women is enough to turn the tide for her.

1954 CBS News “Face The Nation” first airs and the political talk shows have been accused by some of being part of the Clinton Media Machine.

1962 Richard Nixon’s  "Last Press Conference" at which he famously declared, "You won't have Nixon to kick around anymore...."  Nixon went on to win the presidency twice but resigned facing impeachment.  Some pundits say if Hillary wins she enters office as “wounded” as Nixon was when he won his second term…a few months later he was out in disgrace.

1989, L. Douglas Wilder won the governor's race in Virginia, becoming the first elected black governor in U.S. history.  Virginia is a battleground state, its Governor just authorized 60,000 felons to be able to vote and there is much concern if the black population will turn out in large numbers for Hillary as they did for Obama.

2000 Vice President Al Gore and Texas Governor George W. Bush finished virtually tied in the presidential election, with the results uncertain in the deciding state of Florida. After five weeks of legal and political maneuvering, a December 12th Supreme Court decision ended vote recounting in Florida, handing the state and the presidency to Bush with a 537-vote margin. But although Bush won the electoral vote, he lost the popular vote to Gore.   Today Florida is a must have battleground state for Donald Trump and former Governor Jeb Bush refuses to support him.

2000 Hillary Clinton became the only first lady to win public office, defeating Republican Rick Lazio for a U.S. Senate seat from New York.  She now stands on the verge of being the first First Lady to win the White House.

2016 Everyone I know is SOOOOOOOO done with this election!
